Valeria Lukyanova

Written By Ozi on Sunday, April 29, 2012 | 4:35 AM

Meet Valeria Lukyanova, 27, famous internet celebrity in Russia, desperately (or successfully) erasing herself during last 7 years to be like someone else. She was born on August 23, 1985.

Valeria Lukyanova's doll-like features and looks have left critics speculating on the authenticity of her claims. Her highly unusual plastic face and body proportions have also sparked concerns and questions as to how she managed to get that sweeping Barbie look.

The Ukrainian has reportedly undergone plastic surgery as well as used everyday cosmetics to transform herself into a real-life Barbie. In a spoof video released in Jezebel.com, an animated Valeria is shown going to a plastic surgeon's office to attain her figure, and the flawless complexion is the result of putty.
Here are some photos that Valeria Lukyanova taken before she becoming a real-life Barbie:

In 2003, researchers found that if Barbie were a life-size woman, her measurements would be 32-17-28. Dr. Athony LaBruna, the director of Manhattan Plastic Surgery explained in detail as to what all needs to be done to transform a living human body to look like a plastic Barbie doll.

LaBruna speaking at ABC’s Good Morning America’s segment Tuesday said, “A women needs to get breast enhancements to be a 38DD and cut some ribs out" to get an 18" waist, make the hips wider and change her face. Of course, the woman would have to go blonde like Barbie.”

Recently, during a filming for “Fashion King” held at a building in Seoul, Yuri was filming a scene in which she was to take a drink out of a refrigerator. When she was given a break, her playful side appeared, and she acted out a refrigerator CF for the staff members who were tired from their work on the drama.
When the staff members saw Yuri’s playful CF, they reacted by saying, “As expected, Yuri is pretty doing anything,” and, “She’ll get a refrigerator CF contract soon.”
After making her first appearance on the second episode of “Fashion King” in a scene where she met her ex-boyfriend, Yuri left a strong impression with only three minutes of screentime and made a successful drama debut.
Yuri also broke the hearts of many male fans when she was shown in a kiss scene with Jaehyuk (played by actor Lee Jehoon) in the preview of the third episode, which will air on March 26th.

Designers Create Fashionable Easter Bunnies 2012

Written By Ozi on Friday, April 20, 2012 | 8:04 PM

bangstyle.com fashion Designers Create Fashionable Easter Bunnies
After last year’s successful Easter egg commission, in which designers elaborately decorated Easter eggs that echoed their brand’s aesthetic, Vogue decided to, once again, ask some of our favorite designers to customize Easter bunnies for the holiday.

According to Vogue, Mulberry dressed up its coveted Bayswater bag in a tail, paws, and bunny ears, while Prabal Gurung decorated an adorable white bunny in a silk-and-wool flower-printed dress.

Model Sasha Pivovarova, The Webster’s Laure Heriard Dubreuil, and jewelry designer Nektar de Stagni also participated. Pivovarova dressed her floppy-eared bunny in a sparkly gold dress, flower hairpiece and polka-dot flats, while Dubreuil and de Stagni adorned chocolate Ladurée bunnies with colorful and dainty jewelry pieces.

Bronson Van Wyck, Nicholas Kirkwood, Joseph Altuzarra, Peter Pilotto, Lulu Frost, Billy Reid, Suno, Dick Page, Opening Ceremony, Bob Recine, Peter Som, Monique Péan, George Esquivel, Dylan Lauren and Christopher Raeburn were some of the participating designers, models and makeup artists.

“[...] each submission so authentically represented the personality of its creator that labels, which were sometimes cleverly attached to hindquarters, weren’t even necessary,” Vogue said of this year’s Easter bunny commission. “As for the colorful confections that were good enough to eat, inedible materials affixed to them kept us from nibbling. That, and they had to be returned to their owners.”

We couldn’t help but fall in love with every single one of the bunnies. The customized projects presented by each of the designers were both unique and creative. Now, if only we could have purchased one of them…

Check out more photos of the Vogue commissioned Easter bunnies below.

SAIC Fashion Show 2012

SAIC Fashion Show 2008
The School of the Art Institute of Chicago will host its annual Fashion Show and Exhibition on May 1st and 2nd in the recently opened Sage Studios for Fashion Design and the School's new exhibition space, both on the 7th floor of the historic Sullivan Center, 33 S. State Street.

Produced independently by its students and faculty, the SAIC Fashion Show continues its seventy-five-year tradition of showcasing innovative undergraduate student fashion collections, ranging from the elegant to the ready-to-wear, and from the conceptual to the socially engaging. SAIC's Fashion Design program is uniquely situated within the diverse structure of an arts school. "Creativity is high at SAIC because our students find inspiration in traditional fashion design, as well as other studio arts-painting, sculpture, architecture, film, ceramics, and video production to name a few," says department chair Nick Cave. "Students freely pursue experimentation for a unique point of view in concept design, cloth manipulation, and hands-on accessory and garment construction."

Renovation of the Fashion studios in the historic Sullivan Center was made possible by a generous gift from Board Member and SAIC parent Melissa Sage Fadim, a supporter of the Fashion Design department for twenty years. The new 25,000 sq. ft. studio space houses dedicated 24-hour secure access to traditional and advanced technology fabrication facilities; the Fashion Resource Center, one of the country's few hands-on collections of late-twentieth and twenty-first century designer garments; and a unique shoe, millinery, and accessories laboratory. "We believe that the special mix of hands-on-making and technology in art and design at SAIC nurtures designers who will change the direction of fashion and style in the 21st century," adds School president Tony Jones.

The success of the School's undergraduate program in Fashion Design and SAIC's cross-disciplinary approach to education is reflected in a list of alumni that includes such notable designers as Halston, Cynthia Rowley, Laurence Steele, J. Morgan Puett, Eunwha Kim, Maria Pinto, Gary Graham, and Matthew Ames. SAIC graduates hold senior design positions in firms as varied as Yeolee, Jones New York, Levis, Nike, Charles Chang Lima, and Tommy Hilfiger, and design for Anna Sui, Calvin Klein, Zac Posen, Betsey Johnson, Triple5Soul, and Moschino. Upon graduating many have chosen to intern for international houses such as Victor & Rolf, Alexander McQueen, Wendy & Jim, Castelbajac, Zac Posen, Threeasfour, or William Ivey Long, or to launch their own fashion lines.

To honor the efforts of the School's young designers judges award a number of scholarships and grants to talented students, including the prestigious Sage Foundation Scholarship, a full tuition scholarship of merit awarded annually to a student in their junior year. To build upon this tradition of recognizing the accomplishments of talented fashion students, the School's Fashion Committee is hosting a special preview event for the Fashion Show on May 1 to benefit student scholarships.
